Leipzig-based, Duisburg-raised DJ Max Maruo draws on a deep affinity for early dance music sounds of Chicago, Detroit and New York. As a former resident at Golzheim in Düsseldorf and Hotel Shanghai in Essen, he builds rhythm-led sets that are hard to categorise, moving between experimental sounds, raw club music and the stranger edges of the dancefloor.
