DIY-Elektronik zum Selberbauen. In diesem Workshop entdecken wir die DIY-Welt der elektronischen Klangerzeugung. Gemeinsam bauen wir eigene Lautsprecher und elektro-akustische Instrumente. Wir bringen unterschiedliche Materialien wie Holz, Metall, Karton und Kunststoff zum Schwingen und erforschen, wie sich Klänge durch Material, Form und Resonanz verändern. Mit selbstgebauten Piezo-Kontaktmikrofonen entstehen in kurzer Zeit überaschende Soundexperimente. Es sind keine Vorkenntnisse nötig – nur Neugier, offene Ohren und Lust auf Klänge.

Was du mitbringen kannst:
Oberflächenmaterialien zum Experimentieren wie z.B. Kartonplatten, Metallplatten, Styroporplatten, Holzplatten, Verpackungen aller Art – je größer, desto besser! (z. B. Maxi Joghurtbecher, Waschmittelflaschen, Kunststoffkanister …)

Wenn möglich, bring bitte auch Werkzeug mit:
Lötstation oder Lötkolben, Lötzinn, „Dritte Hand“ (Haltewerkzeug beim Löten), Seitenschneider oder Zange, Abisolierzange, Mini-Klinke-Audiokabel (z. B. alte Kopfhörerkabel), Alte USB-Kabel (als Stromversorgung verwendbar), Powerbank

SOUND WORKSHOP (EN)

For everyone aged 8 and over

DIY electronics to build yourself. In this workshop, we’ll explore the DIY world of electronic sound generation. Together, we’ll build our own loudspeakers and electro-acoustic instruments. We’ll make different materials such as wood, metal, cardboard and plastic vibrate, and explore how sounds change depending on the material, shape and resonance. Using homemade piezo contact microphones, we’ll quickly create surprising sound experiments. No prior knowledge is required – just curiosity, an open mind and a love of sound.

What you can bring along:
Surface materials for experimenting, such as cardboard sheets, metal sheets, polystyrene sheets, wooden boards, and all kinds of packaging – the bigger, the better! (e.g. large yoghurt pots, washing-up liquid bottles, plastic canisters …)

If possible, please also bring some tools:
Soldering station or soldering iron, solder, ‘third hand’ (holding tool for soldering), side cutters or pliers, wire strippers, mini jack audio cables (e.g. old headphone cables), old USB cables (which can be used as a power supply), power bank

ABOUT

Laure Boer (FR) is a sound artist and musician based in Berlin. Her music is inspired by noise music and traditional folk. Her performances are hypnotic improvisations involving traditional instruments, electroacoustic elements, light-sensitive sound objects, and sometimes a voice—singing or reciting in her native French—creating a vibrant universe that is both vulnerable and brutal. She composed the music for Zombie Mermaids – A Song for Future Waters, an opera by Swiss artist Magali Dougoud, performed together with the opera singer Myriam Jarmache. Boer is also a member of the quartet Crutches, alongside Jan Frisch, Olga Reznichenko, and Valentin Schuster. Boer has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Tarek Atoui, Rabih Beaini, Dror Feiler, Miki Yui, and Luise Volkmann. She has participated in residencies such as Nusasonic in Manila (PH), Projet Bloom (FR), and Sound Art Lab (DK). She has performed at Berlin Atonal, CTM, WSK Festival (PH), documenta fifteen, Kunsthaus Bregenz, Haus der Kunst Munich, ARTE TV, and has toured Europe solo and in various band constellations. Her music is published by labels such as Kashual Plastik, Chinabot, and Otomatik Muziek, and she has been featured on The Wire's Below the Radar, BBC Radio, and NPR.
