In the radio form for Seanaps festival, schnelle musikalische hilfe will display other than the regular ear worm solutions such as: playing sudoku, listening to God Saved the Queen, or avoid late night coffees; and will transcend what is scientifically considered the ear worm cause: upbeat tempos or pitch patterns; schnelle musikalische hilfe will change the topic, use double meaning of homonyms and homophones or passing her ear worms to listeners and people she will get in contact with, she will be present throughout the festival offering fun facts and her deepest sympathy to this that earworm of yours. Every ear worm has a worm in it.

In conversation with Maximilian Glass 

Rie Nakajima and Pierre Berthet create various ways to vibrate things so that their acoustic shadows dance around: invisible air volumes that constantly reshape, move in space, enter the most secret places, and inside ourselves. A way to get closer to things’ inherent spirits is to listen to them. Eventually encouraging them to produce sounds and resonate by various means.

→12:00 Nicholas Dawson (Bookworms) 

Nicholas Dawson (Bookworms) is a Los Angeles-born, New York-based electronic composer who produces and performs sound works under the name Bookworms. His work is often concerned with various modes of representation and interpretation through audio and non-linear living sonic histories. By way of advanced synthesis, generative sequencing and audio collage, Dawson accesses detuned realities, and conjures harmonics, rhythms and ghosts of the truths which they have come to signify across time and space through repetition... a multi-dimensional blues. He has released music through L.I.E.S. Records, Anòmia, BANK Records, DFA, Bánh Mi Verlag, and Break World Records. Currently, he is part of two collaborative live and recording projects with Dylan Scheer (Via App) and Leila Bordreuil, respectively. For Seanaps Radiolab he has produced a new radiophonic work.

„Neue“ Strategien in Kunst & Kultur

Eine Diskussionsrunde zum Stand der analogen und digitalen Netzwerkarbeit und dessen Bedeutung für die lokale Kulturarbeit. In einem Erfahrungsaustausch unter Macher*innen diskutieren wir was "kollektive Praxis" bedeuten kann, und wie wir Kollektivität - sowohl in der künstlerischen Produktion als auch im sozialen Leben - besser praktizieren können. Dabei sprechen wir auch darüber welche Möglichkeiten es gibt um im kulturell-künstlerischen Bereich so zu agieren und zu experimentieren, dass ein gemeinschaftsorientiertes und gerechteres Denken und Handeln auf einer breiteren Ebene möglich wird. Nicht zuletzt stellt sich für uns mit den Sprecher*innen die Frage, wie wir Räume und Strukturen für temporäre und langfristige Gemeinschaften hervorbringen und nachhaltig organisieren können.

→15:00 Marek Brandt: Music for Animals 

Der Leipziger Künstler Marek Brandt (*1970) spielt Musik für Tiere: Musik für Rinder, Affen, Fische, Ameisen, Wölfe, aber auch für Milben und Krähen. Hierfür reist er direkt zu den Tieren, zum Beispiel auf eine Viehweide nach Schottland, zu Kreidefelsen auf Gibraltar oder in eine alte Industriehalle in Kirschau. Für eine seiner neueren Arbeiten Music for Wildcats hat Marek Brandt im saarländischen Wald gearbeitet. Im Jahr 2018 reiste er nach Kalifornien um dort im Joshua Tree National Park Musik für Koyoten aufzuführen. Seine Music for Animals Serie wird fortlaufend fortgesetzt. 

The Leipzig-based artist Marek Brandt (b.1970) performs music for animals: music for cattle, monkeys, fish, ants, and wolves but also for mites and crows. To do so, he travels directly to the animals, for example, to a cattle pasture in Scotland, to chalk cliffs on Gibraltar, or to an old industrial building in Kirschau. For one of his recent work, Music for Wildcats, Marek Brandt worked in the forest in the Saarland. In 2018 he was traveling to California, USA to performing Music for Coyote at the Joshua Tree National Park. His Music for Animals series is ongoing.

Wir kratzen uns am Kopf und fragen uns. Dann trinken wir einen Kaffee. Wir verstehen nicht die Welt und wollen sie auch nicht erklären. Glaubt uns, das können wir auch gar nicht. Wir wollen Verwirrung stiften! Fromage a trois verkostet nur: liebevoll zu- und mundgerecht auf-bereitete Texte über das (Über-)Leben, Lieben, Hassen, Fragen und Hinterfragen in dieser verwirrenden Welt, die wir nun eben mal bewohnen müssen, flackrig beleuchtet und wackelig ausgestellt. Dazu benutzen wir nicht nur eine Kulturwissenschaftlerin und einen Psychologen, sondern auch Salzrasseln und Fragmente von kaputten oder funktionierenden Instrumenten, die wir zum Beispiel mit leckerem Rettich spielen. Mut und Verschnaufpausen verschaffen Elemente der (subversiven) Populärkultur. Attraktion, Gassenhauer, Hochkultur und kauf dich glücklich. Können wir auch.

"In February 2020, some of my friends in China told me a few unusual dreams that they had. Two months later, my friends in Europe and myself started to have strange dreams, too." During the extraordinary spring of 2020 Weiwei Leung collected 18 dreams, told by different people, gathered in the form of voice messages. The vocal narration of each dream was translated into a digital drawing, which was displayed during the lockdown in Berlin on a monitor screen, facing the street. Seanaps Radiolab broadcasts a radio version of these individual documents.

Teoniki Rożynek is a composer, born in 1991 in Cracow, Poland. She lives in Warsaw. Her works are mostly electroacoustic but also instrumental and electronic. She plays violin and amplified trash. Rożynek frequently collaborates with film and theatre directors and performers. She's mostly inspired by vibrations from the environment in which she lives. Fascinated by ‘dirty’ and glitchy sounds, ‘unmusical’ sounds of machines and engines, the noise of cities and nature.

Limpe Fuchs on piano, that is a rare specialty. The studied pianist is well known for her performances on specially developed instruments and sound installations. Besides she is already present on piano longtime: 20 minutes on the LP Piano Toscano (1977 reissued 2015) and on the CD Pianobody (2002).

Die Praxis zeigt, dass Transparenz nicht unbedingt Fairness bedeutet und dass Nachvollziehbarkeit in bestimmten Situationen negative Auswirkungen auf ganz unterschiedliche Bereiche der Kulturarbeit haben kann. Diese Effekte wollen wir diskutieren und mögliche Handlungsmodelle gemeinsam entwerfen. A radiophonic essay

Corrupted Files (Transposition and Representation) is a radio essay that proposes a subjective reflection on the inability to represent part of traditional Brazilian cultural expressions through the manipulation of their phonographic records through different electronic media. The discussion refers to questions inherent to the pseudo-neutrality of technology that hides ideological aspects of dominant cultures, and reiterates a historical project of modernity that aims at a single future fueled by an unrestrained doctrine of progress.

André Damião, based in São Paulo, is an artist working transversally across the fields of post-digital media and experimental music. His work focuses on interface aesthetics, live coding and mobile music practices. His essay was commissioned by the Goethe-Institut as part of the Latitude Festival, 2020.

Gespäch & DJ Mix

Der Klangforscher, Tonsammler, Autor und DJ Paul Paulun stellt sein Forschungs- und Archivprojekt „Follow Music“ vor. Inspiriert von der Vorgehensweise mittelalterlicher Kartographen entwickelt Paulun ein „sprechendes“ Musikarchiv, das thematische DJ-Mixe als Benutzeroberfläche verwendet, um den Archivbenutzer zu orientieren und zu leiten. Im Radiolabor präsentiert Paulun seinen Mix „A few things from Japan“.

Hören ist ein Forum, ein Forum für Geräusche und Geräusch Enthusiasten. Es geht darum, Geräuschen Raum zugeben. Raum für Mikrotöne, Soundästhetik, spezielle Frequenzspektren, Rhythmen oder Aufnahmesituationen und die damit verbundenen Geschichten.

Interessierte können bis zum 13.10. ihre Werke einreichen, eine Auswahl aller Einreichungen wird am Freitag 16.10. von 17:30-18 Uhr live ausgestrahlt. Die Aufnahmen können zwischen 0:30-5 Min lang sein. Jede*r Einreichende ist dazu angehalten eine kurze Beschreibung mit Titel und Bild zum Werk beizulegen. Einreichungen bitte an radiolab@seanaps.net

Hören is a forum, a forum for noise and noise enthusiasts. We want to give space for noise, space for all microtones, aesthetics of sound, special frequency spectrums, rhythms or recording situations and their stories.

If you are interested to contribute you can send us your recordings until 13th of October. A selection of contributions will be aired on 16th of October 5:30-6:00 pm. The recordings can vary between 0:30-5 min. Every contributor is additionally asked to add a short description with a title and picture. Contributions can be sent to radiolab@seanaps.net.

Live broadcast from the installation „Rastros“ in Westbahnhof, with 1:∞ (Lena Czerniawska and Emilio Gordoa).

In their installation „Rastros“ (eng. Traces) 1:∞ focus on obsolete technology by extracting and recycling devices that are no longer indispensable. Mechanical structures, motors, and recycling resonance elements, texts, drawings, and field recordings, light, and photography serve as material to create a room of thoughts.

Die Autorin Carolin Krahl lebt und schreibt in Leipzig (u.a. als Teil des Autor*innenkollektivs PS: Anmerkungen zum Literaturbetrieb / Politisch Schreiben) und widmet sich in ihren Hörstücken und performativen Lesungen (u.a. „Melusine starrt – eine Hommage an Irmtraud Morgner“) der auditiven Seite des Textes.
Ricarda Kiel: Die Schüssel des Löffels (ein Hör Essay über das Schnitzen von Löffeln)
Zwischen Wörtern und Alltag schält sich eine lange Holzspäne ab, lockt sich und springt. Zwischen Klimakrise, meiner Schürze und meinem Mund bringe ich mir etwas Neues bei. Irgendeinen Fehler mache ich immer. Das Holz reißt noch zu oft auf, ich mache immer einen Schnitt zu lang, ich schärfe zu selten. Und es werden trotzdem Löffel.

Die Autorin Ricarda Kiel lebt und schreibt in Leipzig und ist Teil des feministischen Kollektivs wepsert.

Montez Press Radio is a radio project which was founded in 2018 in New York with the goal of fostering greater experimentation and conversation between artists, writers, and thinkers through the medium of radio. The platform is an experiment in broadcasting and community building which allows different corners of the art world to interact with each other in person and on air—a place where media finally meets flesh. The electronic music artist Nick Klein is a recurring resident on Montez Press Radio. He is interested in loud volume as form, as well as the sociology and ideology that presents in self-identifying music subcultures. Netherlands based Klein practices as a recording artist who runs radio programs, label, and curated events under the working title of "Psychic Liberation". He has released on labels L.I.E.S., BANK, Unknown Precept, Viewlexx, Monorail Trespassing, and iDEAL. Klein regularly writes for Zweikommasieben and is a recurring resident on Rinse France.

→13:00 Seanaps Diskurs: Zwischen DIY und EU
Kreative Netzwerke experimenteller Musik zwischen Ost und West.

Um Prozesse experimenteller Produktion, Veröffentlichung und Präsentation in Gang zu halten, ist es oft nötig, verschiedenste Aktionsebenen zu versuchen und gegebenenfalls zu verbinden, wobei der Survival-Spagat zu einem ideologischen wie kulturökonomischen Spannungsakt von zerreißendem Potential werden kann. Lucia Udvardyova kennt diese unterschiedlichen Level aus diversen Aktiv-Positionen: als Künstlerin und DJ, DIY-Akteurin, Journalistin, Labelbetreiberin (Baba Vanga), Festivalkuratorin (u.a. Easterndaze und UH Fest) sowie Mitarbeiterin internationaler Vernetzungsprojekte wie SHAPE (Sound, Heterogeneous Art and Performance in Europe) oder Unearthing the Music. Einige Projekte sind EU-Programme, andere kämpfen auf unterster lokaler Ebene ums Dasein. Die in Berlin lebende Amerikanerin Natalie Gravenor wiederum, die u.a. das Soundwatch-Festival betreibt, veranstaltete mit ihr bisher drei Easterndaze-Festivals vor Ort und präsentierte mit der Ausstellung- und Veranstaltungsserie „Klipzona“ seit Anfang der 2000er Musik und Film aus Ostmitteleuropa, z.B. im Rahmen von Club Transmediale. Diese disparaten und zudem aus einer Kooperationssituation sich speisenden Erfahrungen einer Mittlerposition zwischen Ost und West werden sie in das Gespräch mit dem Leipziger Osteuropa-Subkulturforscher Alexander Pehlemann (ZONIC) einbringen, dem schließlich ein exklusives Easterndaze-DJ-Set von Lucia Udvardyova folgt.

Verena und Kyrill begeben sich auf die Reise durch ein Schweigekloster.Die Souffleuse ist leider pleite...und trotzdem: In der Abtei stolpern Fragen über Fragen. Der Sprachworkshop zum Punkteabbau ist in den falschen Chat gerutscht.Zwischen I wie Interdisziplinarität und K wie Kapitalismuskritik passt immer noch ein J. Sturzbejoffen vergeben sie in der Mikrokammer die Termine für das nächste Anthropozän. Der Herbst ist da.
Diskurs am Rande der Kommunikation trotz Komma des Absatzes Flüsterkanon. Verena Buttmann ist freischaffende Künstlerin. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. In sprachbasierten Performances und Videos entwirft sie Szenarien zwischen theaterhafter Inszenierung und privatem Raum.
Kyrill Constantinides Tank lebt und arbeitet in München und Regensburg. Er ist Maler und Lyriker und bildet zur Zeit seine tenorige Stimme aus.

Ventilation changes the conditions of air and sound - for you as well as the artist. It’s about being a human and about being an artist, it’s about the potential for crashes and things colliding.
Louise Vind Nielsen is a Hamburg-based conceptual sound, performance visual artist, and composer. In her installation „Ventilation“ in Baumwollspinnerei, the artist hangs seven ceiling fans so close that the metal blades touch each other as they rotate. Christoph Hess alias Strotter Inst. generiert mit präparierten Plattenspielern und weggeworfenen oder vergessenen Überbleibsel des Kulturbetriebes Klang- und Rhythmusstrukturen. Das Spektrum der Musik reicht von flächigen Geräuschlandschaften bis zu polyrhythmisch verdichteten Eruptionen.

"In February 2020, some of my friends in China told me a few unusual dreams that they had. Two months later, my friends in Europe and myself started to have strange dreams, too." During the extraordinary spring of 2020 Weiwei Leung collected 18 dreams, told by different people, gathered in the form of voice messages. The vocal narration of each dream was translated into a digital drawing, which was displayed during the lockdown in Berlin on a monitor screen, facing the street. Seanaps

schnelle musikalische hilfe presents: Mein tiefes Mitgefühl für diesen Ohrwurm

Mein tiefes Mitgefühl für diesen Ohrwurm is a lyrical and musical project that features small sung sentences as symbolic relief for earworms. In the radio form for Seanaps festival, schnelle musikalische hilfe will display other than the regular ear worm solutions such as: playing sudoku, listening to God Saved the Queen, or avoid late night coffees; and will transcend what is scientifically considered the ear worm cause: upbeat tempos or pitch patterns; schnelle musikalische hilfe will change the topic, use double meaning of homonyms and homophones or passing her ear worms to listeners and people she will get in contact with, she will be present throughout the festival offering fun facts and her deepest sympathy to this that earworm of yours. Every ear worm has a worm in it.

schnelle musikalische hilfe is an imaginary institution that deals with small musical problems as an excuse to start debates on bigger or other variously sized problems.

Unter dem Titel Audio Experiment improvisieren Musiker*innen, Akteur*innen der Bildenden und Darstellenden Kunst, Medienkunst und Literatur in wechselnden Konstellationen mit ortsspezifischen Settings. Das Publikum nimmt an den Versuchsanordnungen im „Labor der Möglichkeiten“ teil. Aktuelle Experimente thematisieren Beschränkung und Zensur als – gewollte oder ungewollte – Motoren der Improvisation: „von Zwang zu Klang“. Für das Seanaps Radiolab betritt Audio Experiment das radiophone Spielfeld und lädt die Hörer*innen ein, mitzuspielen

Cachichi is a curatorial platform for sound art, experimental music and listening awareness based in Barcelona, Spain. Through dj sets and the hosting of experimental music happenings, they seek to give audibility to unheard sounds and to establish a network of creative commons between artists.

ein mobiles Radiogeschehen für Lepzig-Lindenau (für UKW und drei Livestreams)

Das geplante Radiogeschehen verkoppelt mehrere offene Fragen, die das Medium Live-Radio heute anbietet:
die Frage nach dem Unort des Radios sichtbar/unsichtbar – und damit die nach der Rolle des Radios in Bezug auf reale Stadtorte im Sendegebiet;
die Frage nach der Unperson der Radiostimme;
die Frage nach dem Echtzeitcharakter und dem damit verbundenen "Wahrheitsanspruch".

In einer zweistündigen Radio-Aktion ist ein Radiostudio nur Ausgangspunkt eines multiplen, sich aufeinander beziehenden Sendens von verschiedenen Orten in Lindenau. Die Stadt und das Wohnen in ihr sind die zentralen Fragen des Live-Geschehens, das die „Echtzeit“ und den Realitätsgehalt der multiplen Radioperson, als auch den Stadtraum selbst verunsichert.

In 2009 Robin Hayward developed the first fully microtonal tuba in collaboration with the German instrument manufacturer B&S. A year after, together with Peder Simonsen and Martin Taxt, he constituted the the world's first microtonal tuba ensemble.

Eine Diskussionsrunde zu neuen und alten Formaten im digitalen wie analogen Radio. Gemeinsam möchten wir kritisch über die Vor- und Nachteile in der Produktion von Festivals im „RadioFormat“ reflektieren und dabei über weiterführende Formatentwicklungen, neue Produktionsarten und die bisher gemachten Erfahrungen sprechen.
