GAŁGAŁ is the solo project of Berlin-based musician and sound designer Michał Krajczok. His work is based on both composition and improvisation with a singular approach to modular synthesis. His musical procedures come from an occupation with the opposite poles of rationality and irrationality and a lean towards the idea of purposelessness and nothingness in art and music. According to this, Michał plays with different layers of certainty and uncertainty, organizing musical categories into determined and undetermined, underlining the possibility of failing and the tension immanent to errors. Michał is regularly joining the »Countdown Grabowsee« Residency. His music is released on the Melbourne-based label LAN and was featured
in GROOVE magazine. GAŁGAŁ’s full length album »Ich schwöre ich hab Angst« was released this year on the label ABSTAND.

GAŁGAŁ ist das Soloprojekt des in Berlin lebenden Musikers und Sound und Sounddesigners Michał Krajczok. Seine Arbeit basiert sowohl auf Komposition als auch auf Improvisation mit einem einzigartigen Ansatz zur modularen Synthese. Seine musikalischen Verfahren entspringen einer Beschäftigung mit den gegensätzlichen Polen von Rationalität und Irrationalität und einer Hinwendung zur Idee der Zwecklosigkeit und des Nichts in Kunst und Musik. Dementsprechend spielt Michał mit verschiedenen Schichten von Gewissheit und Ungewissheit, wobei er musikalische Kategorien in bestimmt und unbestimmt einteilt und die Möglichkeit des Scheiterns und die den Fehlern immanente Spannung unterstreicht. Michał nimmt regelmäßig an der »Countdown Grabowsee« Residency teil. Seine Musik wird auf dem in Melbourne ansässigen Label LAN veröffentlicht und wurde im GROOVE Magazin vorgestellt. GAŁGAŁs Album »Ich schwöre ich hab Angst« wurde dieses Jahr auf dem Label ABSTAND veröffentlicht.
