Concert by Elektrische Leiter
The open artists' collective Elektrische Leiter from Cologne has been acting as a flexible band body for several years and re-forms itself depending on the occasion. The participants react musically to each other as if in an amorphous body, thus constantly forming new and improvised structures and connections with their electronic instruments. All signals converge at a separate mixing console and only this mixture and processing of the sounds - prepared by the electrical conductors - can be heard by the audience, while the artists themselves have to reorganize themselves in this process. At the Seanaps Festival Elektrische Leiter will come into contact with the Danish artist Laure Boer.
In the collective, the venture of spontaneous improvisation is celebrated, but through the functional role of the electric line, an interface to the audience is introduced that transforms the tension of the open-ended situation into a shared adventure. Artists and audience enter into a relationship of mutual recognition based on the co-production of the artistic experience. Elektrische Leiter collective acts as a network node of artists of diverse focus and provenance; electronic and acoustic music, new music and light music, amateurs and professionals, nerds and daredevils.
